Flower Power - Painting with Flowers

This was so much fun and such a great idea. We scored all kinds of recycling points with this project as well the idea originated from my toddlers birthday flowers, they were so beautiful but they didn’t last long. I felt guilty about dumping them so I left them an extra day or two. Then I decided it was time to clean up and in the process of organizing my daughters gifts it hit me. I had dying flowers and lots of paint and paper and I bet it would be cool to use them together. I was totally right!

This project cost me zero as I had paint on hand and recycled the dying flowers. This project could also incorporate a nature walk and you could gather items like branches, leaves and flowers to do the same. We used the large size floor sheets of paper to paint on and I actually recycled that as well because the reverse side had scribbles. I used paper plates as my paint pallet and that even turned out to be art.

All of the product that we created we will reuse in our future Eric Carle project. Clean up was easy and the paint dried rather quickly. I give this project an A+; it was fun, practical, allows for creativity and open-ended play. My toddler was engaged and I had fun my self.

Step by step is pretty self-explanatory, as you will see.
